My research interests
I am researching the gap in curriculum development in the metal fabrication trade in Canada and how a online collaboration network between institution would aid in a new development initiative.

I am about to start my national research project once my ethics application is approved, which should be by January 2010. The project is to research and write a proposal for a national curriculum development network to be used by metal fabrication program instructor and administrator across in each of Canada provinces, territory and International. There are very few up-to-date teaching and learning resource materials available for the metal fabrication trades instructors and this is a worldwide problem based on my initial research. This trade is also experiencing unprecedented technical advancement, at the same time here in Canada we are losing large numbers of skilled tradespeople to retirement. We are also not attracting many young people to skilled trades and a third problem is our educational programs in metal fabrication especially are out of date.
